A lack of facilities for fencers, new and old, led to Andrew and Robert forming the Club as a means of providing facilities to existing fencers in the Newark and Grantham area, and to introduce fencing to the area, and into local schools and colleges to create fencers of the future.
The Club is a relaxed, friendly and social Club which encourages everyone to get involved in fencing, whatever your age or fitness levels. The Club meets on a Tuesday and offers fencing opportunities for those aged 10 and over with our Junior section having started on 28th April 2009.
The Club meets on Tuesday evenings in the sports hall at Highfields School, Balderton.
The Club currently fences foil but the hope as the Club develops is that fencers will be encouraged to try sabre and epee and the Club can become a true 3 weapon club. Robert is a British Fencing Level 2 coach in all 3 weapons.
We welcome any visiting fencers to our club. Come along any Tuesday evening, you will be assured a warm welcome.
